PLEASE NOTE
This guide comes from a selection of monuments chosen for their particular interest, with the aim of creating themed itineraries. Given the large number of interesting tombs and illustrious figures buried in the Sant’Anna Catholic Cemetery, much more space would have been needed to address the wide range of themes and highlight all the most important tombs.
The anthology of artists, collectors, writers, scientists, musicians and important families of benefactors is certainly not exhaustive, but it has enabled many aspects of Trieste society and life between the 19th and 20th centuries to be explored, including through unpublished writing, showcasing the bonds that have always united the driven world of the living and the still quiet memory of the dead.
