Belli Giotti Tomb
Much of Giotti's lyric poetry, right from the famous 1914 poem I veci che 'speta la morte, concerns the hour of death.
However, we would like to remember him with a delicately ironic fragment from his Appunti inutili (Useless Notes), which sums up his despair at the news of his sons' disappearance in Russia with the bureaucratic routine of his life: “I dreamt I was dead. [...] And dead as I was [...] they were making me sign papers in I don't know which office”.
